The Knights of Columbus organization has a proud history. Our founder, the Venerable Father Michael McGivney, sought to provide Catholic men with the opportunity to practice charity in their communities and, in strengthening their mutual faith, strengthen each other. This opportunity continues to be available to all of us today. All it takes is active involvement.
Your Nativity KC Council continues to undertake many works of charity and service for our parish and our community. Our success with these activities is closely tied to the active participation of our membership. A couple of our bigger projects include our monthly parish breakfasts and our Xmas tree lot. Both of these activities not only provide a significant opportunity for community service but they are also major fund raising efforts for our council. Many of you are already scheduled to help with the breakfast and the Xmas tree lot work schedule will be coming out soon. I’d like to extend a special thank you to everyone who works these projects. And if you can’t work a time that you are scheduled, please try to find a replacement.
Besides the breakfasts and tree lot, there are many other projects your council undertakes and many more projects we could undertake. A little effort from many can accomplish a lot. I would like to encourage all members to attend our council meetings held the second Thursday of each month at Nativity and take a closer look at all of the opportunities that exist.
This year, May 2014, marks the 40th anniversary of the Nativity Council. And while the Nativity Council has a proud history full of many accomplishments, we also have a bright future before us. All it takes is active involvement.
God bless you all,
Nativity Council 6570

As with all organizations like ours, we are dependent upon finding new members to continue our good works. I would like to ask each brother knight to see if you can find a person that you believe would make a good knight. If you do not feel comfortable in making the initial contact, please get in touch with one of the officers with the pertinent information. We would be more than happy reach out to a potential member.
